Summary: Carole and Stevie are best friends but the only thing they have in common is their love for riding horses. They are excited for an overnight horseback trip that the stable is taking them on. However Stevie's mother told her that they won't pay for her to go unless she gets her grades up. Instead of concentrating on her grades she decides she will earn 50 dollars. Stevie hasn't ever had to work and so Carole doesn't believe that she can do it. One day a new girl is at the stable named Lisa. Her and Stevie get off to a bad start. Carole and Lisa start hanging out more because Stevie has been busy making money. Stevie earns 50 dollars but when she wins a CD player she spends all her money on CD's. Together the girls help each other so each of them can go on the camp out.
Reaction: I love horses and I was really surprised how much detail about horses are in these books. I really enjoyed reading about these girls and their lives at the stable and outside.
Problem: Lisa has no friends at the stable. Stevie might not be able to go on the overnight horseback ride.
Recommendation: I would recommend this book to everyone. However if I knew someone who loved horses I would definitely recommend it.
