Summary: Frederika a young girl in a small rural town doesn't like going to school. This small town is having a hard time not running off school teachers. Until one day they meet their new teacher Miss Agnes. Right off the bat they realize that she is going to be different. She gets rid of the old books they have and she writes them each books according to their level. Soon the children at the school love learning and learn how to read or write. However Miss Agnes has to leave to go back home to England. The children are really sad except not long after she comes back to be with them again.

Reaction:  I really liked this book and thought it was very well written.

Problem:  Miss Agnes has to return home to England and all the kids don't want her to leave.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to those that maybe struggle with school. I think they could really relate and like this book.
