Summary: A Most Vivid Day is about a bat who is about to eat an apple when the caterpillar says to him to not eat that one because it is ripe. The bat is confused at how he knows if its ripe or not. The bat hadn't hear of color besides dark ones. The caterpillar tells him if he waits and doesn't go to sleep he will see color. The bat does this and as the sun rises he paints everything in the world with color. However the sun runs out of color before the bat gets painted. The bat loves color and is sad that he doesn't get painted. The sun tells all the animals that they must share their colors. However they don't want to and tell the sun no. The sun tells the bat that he will go get more paint and come back. While the sun is gone the clouds tell the animals again to share their colors. They again say no so the cloud starts to rain on them making it dark. This makes the bat sad so he flies up to the cloud and begs him to stop raining the colors away. The cloud stops and it makes a rainbow. The sun comes back with paint but by then the animals had shared their color with him. The bat paints the world red but he is very tired and goes to sleep. The moon then paints the world dark colors again.

Reaction: I was very surprised after reading this book. I had never heard of this book so I didn't have any expectations for it. I thought it was such a cute book, and as I was reading it I thought of so many ways you could implement this book in teaching children. The illustrations were watercolor and very pretty using very vivid colors.

Problem: The bat has never seen color and the sun runs out of color before he can paint him.

Recommendation: I would strongly recommend this book. It was a very fun entertaining book with wonderful pictures.
