Summary: This book is about a girl named Clementine who can’t seem to stay out of trouble. The first day she tries to help her friend, Margaret cut her hair and gets sent to the principles office. Now Margaret’s mother is mad at Clementine because she thinks it is all her fault. Then Clementine cuts her hair really short like Margaret so she won’t feel bad that her hair is ugly. Then she got sent to the principal’s office again for not being able to sit still. Though Clementine tells the principal that she is allergic to sitting still. Then to make matters worse Margaret stops talking to her. Her parents are mad at her because she keeps getting into trouble. Clementine has had such a bad week. She is paranoid that her parents are going to give her away because she is hard child. Instead of being like Margaret who says she is an easy child. In the end however her parents are proud of her and knows that she tries to stay out of trouble. They throw her one great big party and even Margaret comes to it.

Reaction:  I thought this book was a cute light read. We all know kids who really don’t try to get in trouble they just don’t think before they do. Clementine is such a fun character and it keeps you wanting to read more so you can see what kind of trouble she will get into next.

Problem: Clementine’s best friend won’t talk to her anymore. Also she thinks that her parents are going to get rid of her for getting into trouble at school and with Margaret’s mom.

Recommendation: I think this is a great book for young kids in their first years of learning to read. It has some pictures in it so that is fun. Also it uses very simple words and keeps you interested. I would definitely recommend this book.  I think it could be used in classrooms in many different ways.
