Summary: Sideways Stories From Wayside School is a book narrated by the school janitor Louis. Every chapter tells about something different that happens or about a person in Wayside School. Wayside School is a little different because every classroom is on a different story and there are thirty stories in all. It mainly tells about what funny things happen on the thirtieth floor. At first they have a teacher, Mrs. Gorf who turns all of her kids into apples. Then they get a new teacher Mrs. Jewels and she is really nice. The kids didn’t know how to act when someone is nice. Also Mrs. Jewels thinks the kids are monkeys at first. They have to correct her. You will also find out about the board where if you get you name on the board, underlined and circled then you have to go home on the kindergarten bus. There is one kid that gets sent home early every day. This book tells many different stories about the crazy and weird things that happen at this crazy school.

Reaction: I remember these books from when I was a child. I loved them more then I think than when I read it this second time. I think its great that they have the book all mixed- up and crazy just like the school is.

Problem: There are many different problems that are found in each chapter. Such as in the first chapter, Mrs. Gorf turns all the kids into apples. They then have to come up with a solution on how to get her to change them back to kids.

Recommendation:  I have mixed views on this book. It seems like every kid that reads it loves this book but that surprises me a little. I would think that maybe it would confuse children a little with all the stories that go on in this book. Kids love it and I remember how much I loved it so I would recommend.
