Summary: This book is about a little two sisters who get a new puppy. They are worried that their other dog won’t like the puppy. When the puppy arrives they are surprised at how small he is. At first Rosie their old dog wasn’t sure of the new puppy, Floyd. He had so much energy and would chew everything up. In the end Rosie decided she liked the company. The sisters realized that they are happy to have each other too. The illustrations are very beautiful. Barry Moser used watercolor in this book and it fits the content so well. It creates a soft happy feeling.
Reaction: I had never heard of this book but I was looking online and a lot of people had said this was a good book. I couldn’t agree more. I love the happy light feeling and illustrations we different then you see in most picture books.
Problem: There really wasn’t a problem in this book. The girls were only worried that the puppy might not get along with Rosie.
Recommendation: I would recommend this as a great book for really young ages. It is one that you could read out loud to your child before he or she could read.
